A: Via corner fixings. The board comes with a kit. You screw through the four plastic corners into the wall, then clip on the provided caps to hide the screws.

A: Yes, absolutely. The fixings are symmetrical, so you can install it as 900mm wide x 1200mm high if you are placing it on a narrower wall or pillar.
