Cork Board FAQs
Can I use Velcro on cork boards?
No. Natural cork is designed for pins only. Velcro coins will not stick effectively to the porous cork surface. If you need to use Velcro, please choose one of our Felt or Loop Nylon noticeboards.
Is cork fire resistant?
Standard cork has some natural resistance, but it is not Class B certified. For corridors, stairwells, and fire escape routes in schools or offices, you legally require a board from our Fire Resistant range.
How do I clean a cork board?
Cork is very low maintenance. You can simply wipe it with a damp cloth to remove dust. Do not use harsh chemicals or soak the board, as this can damage the natural material.
Can I mount it landscape or portrait?
Yes. The corner fixing system on our framed boards allows them to be mounted in either orientation to suit your wall space.
What is the thickness of the cork?
Our boards typically feature a quality cork facing bonded to a 8mm or 9mm fibreboard core. This provides the necessary depth for pins to be pushed in fully without hitting the wall behind.
