The classic choice for durability and style. Cork has stood the test of time as the preferred material for noticeboards. Its natural self-healing properties ensure that pin holes close up after use, keeping the board looking smart for years. Cobolt Furniture’s range of cork noticeboards offers this traditional reliability with modern build quality, perfect for offices, community halls, and home studies.
Available with sleek aluminium frames for a professional finish or wooden frames for a softer aesthetic, our boards are versatile and practical. For environments requiring colour or specific safety ratings, consider our felt noticeboards or check our compliant fire resistant range for corridors and escape routes.
Long lasting. Cork is naturally resilient. When you remove a pin, the cork expands to fill the hole, meaning your board won't look worn even after years of displaying notices.
Sustainable choice. Cork is a renewable and recyclable material harvested from the bark of cork oak trees. Ideal for businesses looking to reduce their environmental impact.
Aluminium or Wood. Choose anodised aluminium frames for a sleek modern office look, or select light oak or beech frames for a more traditional, warm appearance.
Neat installation. Our framed boards include corner fixings hidden by plastic caps. This ensures the board is mounted securely to the wall without visible screw heads.
Firm grip. We use high-density cork bonded to a fibreboard core. This ensures pins are held firmly, so heavy documents or laminated posters won't fall off.
Best of both. Can't decide? Check our combination boards which feature half cork and half whiteboard, giving you dual functionality in one unit.
Cheap cork boards often warp or crumble. Cobolt Furniture supplies commercial-grade boards with rigid backings and quality frames designed for longevity.
Whether for a home office or a university campus, buying direct from the manufacturer ensures the best price and immediate stock availability.
Cork Board FAQs
Can I use Velcro on natural cork boards?
No. Natural cork is designed for pins only. Velcro coins will not stick effectively to the porous cork surface. If you need to use Velcro, please choose one of our Felt or Loop Nylon noticeboards.
Is a standard cork board fire resistant?
Standard cork has some natural resistance, but it is not Class B certified. For corridors and fire escape routes, you legally require a board from our Fire Resistant range.
How do I clean and maintain my cork board?
Cork is low maintenance. Simply wipe it with a damp cloth to remove dust. Do not use harsh chemicals or soak the board, as this can damage the natural cellular structure of the cork.
Can I mount the board in landscape or portrait orientation?
Yes. The corner fixing system on our framed cork boards allows them to be mounted in either orientation to suit your specific wall space requirements.
What is the total thickness of the board?
Our boards typically feature a quality cork facing bonded to a 8mm or 9mm fibreboard core. This provides the necessary depth for push pins to hold securely without hitting the wall.
