Expert Advice for Large Cork Boards
Q: Is this board fire resistant?
A: No, cork is a natural combustible material. This board is suitable for general offices, classrooms, and libraries. For escape routes and corridors, you must use our Class B Fire Resistant range.
Q: What are the dimensions in feet?
A: It is approximately 6ft x 4ft. The exact metric dimensions are 1800mm x 1200mm (or 1200mm x 1800mm depending on orientation).
Q: Does the cork crumble over time?
A: No. We use high-quality aggregated cork which is flexible and durable. The aluminium frame also protects the edges from damage, preventing crumbling.
Q: Can I install it myself?
A: We recommend two people. Due to the 1.8m length and substantial weight (approx 9kg), it is safer and easier for two people to level and fix the board to the wall.
Q: Can I hang it landscape?
A: Yes. The board can be mounted in either Portrait (vertical) or Landscape (horizontal) orientation to suit your wall space.
Q: What pins should I use?
A: Standard push pins or map pins. The cork is deep enough to accept standard pins fully for a secure hold.
Q: Is the fixing kit included?
A: Yes. Every board is supplied with the necessary screws, wall plugs, and corner caps for installation on a solid wall.
Q: Can I stick Velcro to the cork?
A: Not recommended. Velcro adhesive can peel off the cork surface over time. It is best to use pins for items you wish to display.
